Ashirvad Institute for Pain Management and Research (AIPMR) is a multidisciplinary pain clinic in the heart of Mumbai. Our approach to pain is holistic, with a focus on the patient as a whole with multitargeted treatment of the pain. Our is a dedicated centre for Pain treatment with all the latest technology under one roof. We perform minimally invasive procedures for treatment of pain after we acquire an insight into patients physical and mental condition with a elaborate history taking and physical examination. Every patient with chronic pain has a long story of complaints, worries, fears and apprehensions that accompany the pain. Our approach aims to provide maximum relief from the pain, whilst trying to rehabilitate the patient, improve the functionality and let the patient attain the best Quality of life possible.

Every patient with chronic pain has a long standing story of complaints, worries, fears and apprehensions that accompany the pain. Each patient also has different ways to adjust to the problem of untreated, unaddressed chronic pain- that determines the response of the individual to pain. Some are dejected, depressed, while some move on, accepting pain as a part of life.

AIPMR is a one stop destination for chronic pain. We offer different treatment modalities under one roof.
There is procedure room for performing procedures under clean and safe conditions. The theatre is equipped with a C-Arm fluoroscope for live x-ray guided minimally invasive procedures. There is an anaesthesia machine with all resuscitative equipment for emergencies to ensure that the patient gets the best and safest treatment possible. It is equipped with Ultrasound Machine, Radiofrequency generator, Ozone Generator, Platelet rich plasma Machine.
The treatment rooms (6 rooms with 10 beds ) are used to perform minor procedures like Ultrasound guided dry needling and physical therapy modalities that are used as a part of pain management or maintenance therapies.
Therapeutic exercises, advanced manual therapy is performed for every patient, treatment with different modalities including Ultrasound, Laser, IFT, (Interferential current delivery machine) TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation), Stimpod machine.
Dr. Lakshmi Vas (MD Anaesthesiology) is the founder of Ashirvad Pain Relief Clinic, where she practises interventional pain management and treats people with all sorts of chronic pain conditions. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of pain management and anesthesiology. Dr Lakshmi had started this clinic some 17 years ago and ever since she has never looked back. Now she has a wonderful team of highly skilled doctors working with her at Ashirvad Pain Relief Clinic. No matter what kind of pain you are experiencing at this moment, or how severe the pain is affecting you. You can always rely on Dr. Lakshmi Vas and her colleagues.
Director & Chief Consultant
After a successful career as a Paediatric anaesthesiologist, Dr. Lakshmi changed her career path in 2002 and became a chronic pain management specialist. She was associated Prince Aly Khan and Breach Candy Hospital as a Consulting Pain Physician. She started the state of the art, biopsychosocial model of pain management (AIPMR) in November 2005. She is an Honorary Physician at KEM Hospital, Parel.
Palliative Care Specialist
Dr Renuka S Pai is a Pain and a Palliative Care Specialist associated with Ashirvad Institute of Pain Management and Research (AIPMR) since 2010. Her basic training has been in Anaesthesia. Her Chronic Pain fellowship training has been at AIPMR and her Palliative Care fellowship training has been from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. She is also a certified headache specialist from the World Headache Society.
Consultant
Dr. Jhanvi is MD, DNB in Anaesthesiology with Fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia (FIRA) and Fellowship in Chronic Pain Management (FCPM). She is also awarded with European Diploma in Pain Management (EDPM) by the European Society of Regional Anaesthesia (ESRA). She has been associated with AIPMR for the past 2 years.
